The Power of Prayer

Lately I've been adding to my prayer list more and more  - a lot of concerns for individuals, serious problems in many parts of the world and natural disasters striking what seems regularly.
There are times when one can feel grossly inadequate to help.  However, I am reminded to never under estimate the power of prayer.
It is a kindness that we can bestow upon others, and ourselves, everyday.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
~Philippians 4:6-7

Prayer is exhaling the spirit of man and inhaling the spirit of God.
 ~Edwin Keith

Through prayer, others will be blessed and so will you.
Let the blessings flow.

Wishing you a beautiful day!
Doreen

Thanks for your visit, inspiring words, and that great photo. The silhouette of the man against the sky background is great.

Hi Doreen!
This is such a beautiful photo! Is that Emily in it?
The prayer quote is something I wrote down in my Sunday journal... It's such a great quote!

It is how I feel sometimes while on walks and even in the morning on the way to work...
Many times, I turn off the radio and just sit quietly in my car as I drive to work...
...exhaling the spirit of man and inhaling the spirit of God.

Your blog is such a wonderful place to visit, Doreen... You've really made is warm, welcoming and inspiring ♥

Lots of love and {hugs}

Hi Doreen. You hit on something I've been reflecting on for some time now. It seems there is an ever-increasing amount of suffering going on in the world. Our greatest resource is prayer. After all, apart from Him we can do nothing. I have been immersing myself in Phil. 4:6-7. It would be hard to put one foot in front of the other if I didn't. Thank you for the reminder. We need to encourage one another. Thanks so much for your visit and your kind comments. It's so wonderful to connect with other Christians. Hugs, Terri
